Steps to Creating a Filter at the Property Level
Users who have the Editor or higher at the property level can create/edit filters at the property level.
- Sign in to Google Analytics
- Define your internal traffic
- Click the gear icon on the bottom left part of your screen
- Click Data streams
- Select your data stream
- Click Configure tag settings
- Click the Show more dropdown and then click Define internal traffic
- Click Create
- Enter a Rule name
- Leave the traffic_type value as internal
- If this value is changed, the updated value must be reused in step 16b
- Under IP addresses, click on the dropdown to select the desired match type
- Leave the traffic_type value as internal
- Click Create in the top right corner to finish making the rule
- Repeat Step 3
- Click Data filters
- Click Create filter
- Choose filter type
- Choose Internal traffic to exclude IP addresses
- Name your data filter
- Leave Filter operation as Exclude
- Under Parameter value, leave as internal (or the value used in step 9a.)
- Select Active to apply your data filter
- Click Create in the top right corner
