Google Merchant Center Vehicle Ads Feed Requirements

Learn Google Merchant Center vehicle feed requirements, including MSRP rules, VIN standards, model/trim hierarchy, and supported body styles.

Feed Workflow & Responsibilities

  • Orbee's Role: Orbee can manage feed syndication, data transformation, optimization, and automated submission directly to Google Merchant Center.
  • Dealership Responsibility: Dealerships must work with their inventory feed provider to ensure all required vehicle attributes and clean data formatting are delivered directly to Orbee.

1. Inventory Feed Review Fields & Data Specifications

Vehicle Identification & Hierarchy

    • VIN (vin): Full 17-character NHTSA-compliant Vehicle Identification Number. Short stock numbers or truncated VINs cause item disapprovals per Google's VIN Guidelines.
    • Year (year): 4-digit model year strictly (e.g., 2025). See Year Documentation
    • Make (make): OEM brand name strictly (e.g., Ford).
    • Model (model): Core vehicle model strictly. Strip Year and Make prefixes, and separate Trim attributes (e.g., submit F-150 instead of Ford F-150 Lariat). See Model Documentation
    • Trim (trim): Sub-model, package, or edition badge stored in a dedicated column (e.g., Lariat, Raptor, GT). See Trim Documentation

Pricing, Condition & Compliance

  • Vehicle MSRP (vehicle_msrp): Mandatory for all new vehicles (condition = new) in US feeds per Google's Vehicle MSRP Guidelines
    • Optional for used inventory and Canadian listings. Must be formatted as a numeric value greater than 0.00 with currency.
  • Selling Price (price): Full cash selling price in ISO 4217 currency format matching the landing page price.
  • Condition (condition): Explicit status (new or used) required on every row. See Condition Mismatch Guidelines

Images & Description

  • Main Image Link (image_link): Direct URL to a high-resolution photo of the actual vehicle without overlays or watermarks. See Vehicle Ads Image Guidelines
  • Description (description): Plain-text product highlights. Strip all raw HTML markup (<p>, <span>) and CSS formatting before transmitting data to Orbee.
